The Failure of Fiat Currencies and the Implications for Gold and Silver

About This Webinar

The Denver Gold Group, Inc (DGG) connects global capital with global mining. It is organized as a Colorado nonprofit business association and represents seven-eighths of the world's publicly traded precious metal production and known mineral reserves and resources.

As the only independent and conflict-of-interest-free investment platform, Denver Gold Group is dedicated to the exclusive support of precious metal miners. DGG has a 33-year track record through every investment cycle.

DGG also supports and promotes various precious metal investment and education initiatives, often in collaboration with other mining and mineral industry business associations.

The Gold Forum Europe (GFE) is the Continent's oldest and largest gathering of precious commodity equities. Now in its 20th year, GFE showcases a majority of the world's publicly traded gold and silver companies when measured by production or reserves. Tim Wood has served as the Executive Director of Denver Gold Group since April 2011.

Since taking over, Tim has institutionalized DGG through automation-focused information systems and robust operating processes. The results have been visible in a transformed balance sheet and a material reduction in all business risks. Underscoring the efficiency is DGG’s ability to maintain unchanged membership pricing for nine years even as services and value have increased through three distinct cycles in precious metal prices.

Before joining DGG, Tim managed retail and institutional investment conferences in America, Canada, and South Africa. As Managing Director of Mining Indaba, he oversaw its transition from a family operation to a mature business that enjoyed a ten-fold expansion in net income over four years. The private equity owners sold the company shortly thereafter for nearly seven times the value of the original transaction.

Tim also has extensive experience in publishing and information systems development through his experience with various media enterprises including South Africa’s Sunday Times, Johnnic’s New Media Group, and Moneyweb’s slate of products that included Mineweb. He has directed or been involved in the development and deployment of almost two dozen commercial software projects.

Tim was a founding director of Moneyweb, an Internet media group that was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in June 1999. He also founded ResourceInvestor.com in 2003, subsequently vending it into Miami-based International Investment Conferences.

In 1995, Tim deployed one of the first corporate websites in Africa for the Chamber of Mines of South Africa, where he began his career, working as a public policy analyst and assistant to the CEO.

Tim and his family became citizens of the United States after emigrating from South Africa. Tim earned a graduate degree in International Relations, and a Diploma in Business Administration, both from Wits University in Johannesburg. He read for the degrees after completing compulsory military service as a fire control officer assigned to Tango Battery, Task Force Yankee (10 Art. RHQ) for Operation Prone at the conclusion of the Angolan-South African war in 1988.
